Vip Visitor at Taman Sari

THE house on Taman Sari in Bandung, remains fresh in the memory of Lin Wan Li. It was where Chinese Prime Minister, Zhou Enlai, stayed during Asia-Africa (AA) Conference in 1955.

Lin, who was 17 at the time, was one of the hundreds of Chinese students serving as volunteers, tasked with helping to maintain Zhou's security at the Taman Sari house. He was asked to volunteer by Yo Eng Bun, his classmate at school. Eng Bun's father, Yo Kyo Cun, was the security chief during Zhou's trip to Bandung. "Yo Kyo Cun was leader of the Bandung Chinese community," said Lin two weeks ago. He still keeps photos of his friends at Taman Sari.
