Culpable Corporations?

Riau is in a state of emergency because of dense haze. The air pollution standards index today measures above 300, which is dangerous for humans. Based on the Global Forest Watch website (globalforestwatch.org) and the Forest Fire Early Detection Application of the Indonesian Ministry of the Environment and Forestry (sipongi.menlhk.go.id), this September alone, there have been 4,327 fires in Riau, Jambi and South Sumatra provinces. In West and Central Kalimantan, there have been even more fires, 4,509 in all.
