Long before Freeport Indonesia's contract of work expired, parent company Freeport-McMoRan has been going out of its way to lobby the government. The Phoenix, Arizona-based company is unwilling to part with revenues from the mines. Maneuvers to extend the contract of work started last July, despite ongoing renegotiations to amend it.
