The prosecutor from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) accused him of hiding property bought with corruption money from the time he was a member of the House of Representatives (DPR). The amount was no trifle: over Rp627 billion. Nazaruddin had previously been sentenced to seven years in prison over a corruption case involving the construction of an athletes dormitory accommodations in Palembang.
