Booster Shots for Industry
Arief Bintoro Dibyoseputro, a Sri Rejeki Isman (Sritex) company director, has made numerous trips to the tax office over the past few months. He is seeking approval for an income-tax allowance incentive for the materials used to make yarn at the Sritex Group textile factory at Sukoharjo, Central Java.
Arief said Sritex had the right to apply for the tax break since the newly built factory is labor-intensive and has an investment value of over US$250 million. If approved, the company can save five percent on income taxes for the first six years and be compensated for losses from years six to 10.
