The third week of June was a long one for President Joko Widodo, whose agenda required him to make five working visits. Four of the visits were to inspect sections of toll roads that had been delayed for years due to the complicated process of acquiring the needed land.
Dressed in a white, long-sleeved shirt and black trousers, the President first visited the Gadog Subdistrict in Bogor, West Java. This is a construction site for the 54-kilometer Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi toll road, a project that has been at a standstill since 1997. "There have been four groundbreakings. Not even one meter of it has been completed," said the President. This is also the case with the Cimanggis-Cibitung toll road (26 kilometers), the Depok-Antasari toll road (23 kilometers) and the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu flyover (21 kilometers). Jokowi visited them all before nightfall.
