Sky-high Islamic School Fees

THE melodic chanting of istigfar calls for forgiveness, and children's prayers could be heard that afternoon. Around 20 children were sitting cross-legged in a circle on a red carpet. The 10 year-old boys and girls appeared happy to be mixing in one room. As soon as the call to prayer rang out, they all said the fast-breaking prayer together. The atmosphere then became more lively. They stood up and approached the table to take their kolak sweet, sweetened tea, and boxes of rice. Afterwards, they performed the sundown maghrib prayer, followed by reciting passages from the Qur'an, and more prayers. The session was closed by performing two optional rakaat prayer cycles.
