Four out of the eight casualties of the May 22 riots are believed to have been shot. Their families are asking for police transparency.

ALTHOUGH it has been two weeks, MR still hears the sound of bullets whizzing in his ears. At dawn on Wednesday, May 22, in Central Jakarta’s Petamburan area, those bullets just barely missed his right ear.
