ON the morning of Thursday, October 17, Kiai (religious leader) Ma’ruf Amin did not wear his usual sarong and peci cap. During his walk around the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) stadium, he wore training pants, sneakers, and a blue baseball cap. The vice president-elect exercised for about an hour, accompanied by his wife, Wury Estu Handayani. Islands of sweat marked his long-sleeve shirt.
