Hospitals assigned to take in Covid-19 patients are lacking ventilators. Engineers from universities to automotive companies are racing with time to make ventilators in anticipation of a surge in coronavirus cases.

FAISAL Yunus is relieved to see eight ventilators arriving at Persahabatan Hospital in Jakarta over the last week. Previously, the hospital, assigned to take in Covid-19 patients, only had four ventilators to be shared by 20 patients. “Thank goodness there were people who donated ventilators,” the lung specialist said on Friday, April 3.
