Indonesia’s health care is crashing due to the spike in Covid-19 cases. To overcome the collapse of hospitals, the government worked hard to increase the capacities of isolation wards and hunt for medical oxygen, even in Singapore. Amid this situation, more and more doctors and nurses died from Covid-19.

ON Friday, July 9, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin received a phone call from Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X. After the evening prayer, Sri Sultan informed the minister that oxygen supply at the Dr. Sardjito Central General Hospital (RSUP), a Covid-19 referral hospital, was in critical condition and was predicted to run out in less than 24 hours.
