PANDA Nababan, Sinar Harapan editor, sat in the waiting room before an interview with National Police Chief, Gen. Hoegeng Iman Santoso, 50 years ago. A roar was suddenly heard from Hoegeng’s office at the National Police Headquarters in Jalan Trunojoyo, South Jakarta.

After that, Panda faintly overheard Hoegeng reprimanding the Criminal Investigation Division Commander, Katik Suroso. Apparently, Suroso had brought a businessman implicated
