ON Friday, September 1, Democrat Party founder Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono invited members of the party’s Supreme Council to discuss the next steps for the 2024 presidential election. The gathering at Yudhoyono’s residence in Cikeas, West Java, took place the day after Anies Baswedan announced National Awakening Party (PKB) Chair Muhaimin Iskandar as his vice-presidential candidate.
