Now it is right at the heart of the hunt for fugitive Tommy Suharto. Back in 1996, hardly anyone noticed the now famous house on Jalan Alam Segar III, in South Jakarta's Pondok Indah suburb.

But when watching the police raid on No. 23 in that street replayed on TV on Monday evening last week, one man remembered a very strange experience he had there back in 1996, when Suharto was still president and Tommy was his untouchable playboy favorite
