Over the past week, the Indonesian Mujahiddin Council (MMI) chairman, Abu Bakar Ba’asyir’s beard has grown whiter. At age 63, Ba’asyir is receiving treatment for heart and respiratory ailments at Solo’s Muhammadiyah hospital. Ba’asyir was taken there on Friday, October 18 just one day before the police arrested him. Now, Ba’asyir faces charges that carry a maximum penalty of death.
