COUNTERFEIT money scandals in Indonesia are like a destructive fence—destroying the very plants it was put up to protect. In a number of cases, security forces personnel seem to have been involved in or have been behind the wads of illegal currency. Apart from last week’s case involving Police Brig. Gen. (ret) Zyaeri, an official at the State Intelligence Agency, many other armed forces or police personnel have been involved.
