FOR the wealthy son of a very powerful former president, the prospect of living in such a room could only be called humiliating. The cell measures just 12 meters square. The bed is a raised cement platform adjoining the cold wall. There is a squat toilet in one corner, with a low wall to give a degree of privacy. Every time the latrine is used, the smell of human waste quickly permeates the air of the cell.
