The Dengue Fever Attack

More than 190 people in 16 provinces have died from the dengue fever since the epidemic began early this year. The virus is carried by an Aedes aegypti mosquito.

Only the female of the species can infect humans. Living near human settlements, the mosquitoes are usually found on hanging articles such as curtains and clothes in dark and damp places. The mosquito proliferates in rainy season in pools of standing water.
