Affandi is the icon of the Indonesian world of painting. People commemorated his centenary with various events. The Jakarta National Archives held an event entitled Imagined Affandi. Dozens of painters shared their interpretations on Affandi in their own style. Which side of Affandi has been typically appreciated by most of our painters? TOBACCO pipe, wrinkled face with tangled grey hair and beard, sunflower, sarong, squeezed paint tubes. Those are familiar images that people depict from the late Affandi.
