APPARENTLY, not everyone ended up having to take a loss when Indonesia was so hard hit by the economic crisis. Several large pension fund and insurance management institutions, for example, in fact recorded profits. And they didnt actually have to do any real work. All they had to do was put their funds under management on deposit at the banks, which at the height of the crisis were offering deposit interest rates of around the 60 percent mark.
