With the value of the rupiah tumbling, there really doesn’t seem much to be cheerful about, not least from an economic point of view. But take another look. For the first time since the crisis began—NOW over three years ago—the business world has shown that the economy MUST play to its own rhythm rather than trusting to the whims of politicians. And the results are rather impressive. Exports are up, industry is moving much quicker and the banking sector is starting to make loans available again.
