Precious Gifts for Bakrie
Economists are alarmed by the awarding of a toll road loan, worth Rp1.39 trillion, to the Bakrie Group. There is need of a guarantee that none of this loan will be channeled for the interests of Lapindo.

THE Bakrie Group has received two special gifts this month. Not that long ago, the government announced that it would provide guaranteed funds for repairing infrastructure damaged because of the Lapindo Brantas Inc hot mudflow disaster, worth Rp3.8 trillion. And last week, the Bakrie Group received another gift: loans amounting to Rp1.39 trillion from two state-owned banks.
