The Tangguh gas contract has created losses so Indonesia will renegotiate it with China, perhaps offering a price of US$7 per mmbtu. But this has now become a political issue.

THERE was something unusual about the cabinet meeting in the presidential office on Thursday last week. Usually, only photographers and cameramen are allowed to take pictures of the President and ministers. This only lasts for five minutes, then they are asked to leave.
