An agreement with Malaysian-based DRB-HiCom to build an outer ring road for Jakarta has lapsed and the government will not renew it. Some want state toll road firm Jasa Marga to build the road instead, if it can.

Jakarta's congested streets will have to remain congested for a bit longer. The Jakarta Outer Ring Road project has been set back again. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) with DRB-HiCom has lapsed and is not to be renewed. The government plans to retender the project.
