Clearing up Traditional Markets
The implementation of the traditional market revitalization program is dragging on and on. The charges for new kiosks are burdening the traders.

THE Mayong market in Mayong district, Jepara regency, Central Java, felt oppressive. On Thursday last week, over 1,000 traders were selling their goods in the market’s main building. This was because almost 300 traders who rent kiosks in the market’s east, west and southern wings have fled here. For over two weeks now their sites have been under renovation.
