Back Among the Paupers

Thirteen years after it was judged too wealthy, Indonesia has once again fulfilled the conditions for soft loans from the International Development Association, a World Bank subsidiary that deals with 'poor' countries. The loans should start next year.

Indonesia has stepped back 13 years in time. In 1988, Jakarta received loans from the International Development Association (IDA) for the last time.
