Merpati will be reinforced with 15 new planes made by Xi’an Aircraft, financed by a soft loan from Bank Exim China after being caught in uncertainty for more than two years. The Minister of Finance refused to convert it to state capital participation.

THE trip from Shanghai lasted two hours. Flying China Eastern, State Minister for State-Owned Enterprises Mustafa Abubakar landed in Xi’an, capital city of Shaanxi Province, before noon. From Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, he had to continue his journey to Yanliang District, one hour from the city center, riding a bus provided by the host.
