The Motion Picture Association of America objected to being hit with a tax on imported film royalties. They threatened to halt the distribution of Hollywood films. There is a whiff of business competition in this film industry.

SEVEN men entered the main building of the central office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise in Rawamangun, East Jakarta, two weeks ago last Friday. Three of them were representatives from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPA). The others were film producers from Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc, Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, and Warner Bros Entertainment Inc.
