Have other countries ever been boycotted by Hollywood for raising film import taxes? Thailand has. But even then its own national film industry took off.

WHEN the commotion arose over the issue of raising film import tax in Indonesia, several film industry figures tried to compare the situation with that of Thailand. Head of the National Film Development Agency (BP2N) Deddy Mizwar, for example, compared the issue of the film taxation review with Thailand’s experience.
