FROM the high-rise near kilometer 93 of the Jakarta-Merak toll road, the queues of thousands of trucks looked like a long snake. There was not an inch left on the obstruction-free road to Merak Port, Banten. The three lanes were swarmed with trucks of all sizes. The thousands of vehicles covered with tarpaulin containing various goods and basic commodities about to cross to Lampung were at a complete standstill.
