The government and DPR have again failed to agree on key points in the currency bill under review by the legislature.

FOR the third time the meeting ended in a deadlock. The government and the House of Representatives (DPR) again failed to agree on Tuesday a fortnight ago on key points in the currency bill now under review by the legislature.
The deadlock rests on two issues: the transition period leading to the issuance of new banknotes the government insisted it be also signed by the Finance Minister, and the proposed redenomination of the rupiah.
