Crying Over Subsidized Fuel Quotas

Indonesia has relented, agreeing to increase subsidized vehicle fuel quotas for Kalimantan in the face of serious threats by provincial administrations to block transportation of coal supplies to power plants in Java.

THE long queues of motorists waiting hours at fueling stations were no longer seen in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, as of Thursday last week. Only three or four cars, and a few motorcycles, took turns filling up at petrol stations.
