Adam Bain, President of Global Revenue and Partnerships of Twitter:
Brands Could Learn from Innovations in Indonesia
Social media has taken Indonesia by storm. The country, with its large population and millions of active users, is a ripe market for any social media company to capitalize in. "Indonesia is one of the biggest countries that is active on Twitter, and the Asia-Pacific region is the largest and fastest growing across all of Twitter," said Adam Bain, 40, Twitter's president of global revenue and partnerships. The company plans to expand its presence in Indonesia by opening a new office in Jakarta in the next three to six months.
One thing that has piqued the company's interest in Indonesia is its consumers' engagement. "There have been great moments that have happened here in Indonesia that are relevant and that we talk about across the rest of the world," Bain said during a media visit to Jakarta on August 29. "There were millions of tweets about the election, the national day and over 45 million tweets during the holy month of Ramadan." During the one-day trip, Bain spoke to reporters about the future of Twitter in the country.
