State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Rini Soemarno seems to be repeating the mistakes of her predecessor, Dahlan Iskan. In front of members of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission VI overseeing SOEs two weeks ago, she revealed plans to dissolve Pertamina Energy Trading Limited (Petral).
Based on reports from Pertamina, Rini revealed oil procurement activities by Petral are on the wane, with the majority of oil purchases being carried out in Jakarta through the Integrated Supply Chain. "Details [on the dissolution] will be presented to the CEO of Pertamina," said Rini on Tuesday last week.
