SIGNS that Freeport Indonesia shares might soon begin trading continue to grow. Last Tuesday at the Directorate-General of Minerals and Coal, a release of Initial Public Offering (IPO) shares onto the stock exchange was put forward as one divestiture option. The mechanism could be included in revisions to the Mineral and Coal (Minerba) Law set to be issued by the middle of the year.
"The mechanism is not yet spelled out in Government Regulation [PP] No. 77/2014," Bambang Gatot, director-general for minerals and coal, told Tempo last week.
