Large ports are boomingin South East Asia. If Indonesia wants to compete, costs must be reduced and efficiency must be improved.

SINGAPORE never seems to stop making improvements. At the end of last April, the construction of a large port, dubbed Tuas Port, was launched. The first phase is scheduled for completion in2020. The container terminal will be able to accommodate 20 million TEUs (20-feet-equivalent units) annually.
