Cheap and Nasty?
Chinese vehicles are starting to be sold in Indonesia at prices that are certainly cheap but the quality's a bit `so-so'. Without good after-sales service, will they suffer the same fate as Chinese motorcycles?

IT REALLY does seem as if this Year of the Water Horse is going to be a lively one for Indonesia's automotive business. Not only is the market to be invaded by new models made in Japan, Europe and Korea, but vehicles made in China have already very quietly started to add to the competition. According to the Ministry of Trade & Industry, 120 Chinese minibuses have already entered the Indonesian market.
