New Kid on the (Local) Block

Competition is tight in the new tender for the Jakarta Outer Ring Road, re-tendered at parliament's request. The Jakarta government has now joined the fray, while the Malaysian company that won the initial tender is still considered the strongest competitor.

PREVIOUSLY the Jakarta local government was just an onlooker as regards the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) project. This was despite the fact that it very much wanted to get involved in toll road construction in the capital.
