As the oil price kept rising, hundreds of large trucks blockaded over 100 oil depots in France, causing most petrol stations across the country to run out of supplies. As a result, traffic came to a standstill, flight schedules went awry and buyers rushed to supermarkets to buy up daily necessities, fearing there would be scarcity.
