After Sritex, other major textile companies are also collapsing. Incentives and support are needed to curb imported goods.

BAD news continues to hit the textile industry. After Sri Rejeki Isman (Sritex) was declared bankrupt, Asia Pacific Fibers (POLY) announced a temporary halt in its chemical and fiber plant operations in Karawang, West Java, starting Friday, November 1, 2024. The closure of this factory, which has been in operation for three decades, is expected to reduce POLY’s annual sales revenue by up to 52 percent.
