There is intense competition in the air transport business these days, and not surprisingly, there has also been some fierce speculation about top management positions in the two state-owned airlines: PT Garuda Indonesia and PT Merpati Nusantara. The competition will reach its climax on April 29, when State Minister for State-Owned Enterprises, Laksamana Sukardi, will announce the new appointments.
