Tenders for the building of tankers for Pertamina are now a bone of contention. The Office of the State Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) would like state-owned shipyards to be fully in charge of this project.

Pertamina, a state-owned company controlling the black gold in Indonesia, is now all set for the supply of 12 tankers. A large number of ships, a huge amount of money. The company's public relations manager, Ridwan Nyak Baik, said 39 financiers and 33 foreign and domestic ship-building companies are now eyeing this project worth US$300 million.
