THE strong success of Carmike Cinemas was apparently the inspiration for Blitz Megaplex. At the end of last year, this cinema network was the third largest in the US with a total of 307 cineplexes and 2,469 screens, most of which use digital projectors. Carmike was the first Cineplex network to try this out.

They have installed 2,300 digital projectors in the Carmike network. This revolutionary project is targeted to be completed by October 2007.
