IN the middle of the battle for the ownership of the majority share in Bank Danamon, there have been several unexpected moves and some sudden surprises. Two weeks ago, it certainly didn't seem to be that interesting a battle because it wasn't at all balanced. It really did seem that the Asia Finance consortium—whose members are Temasek Holding of Singapore and Deutsche Bank of Germany—faced no competition to speak of from the domestic
