As a typical banker, Edwin Gerungan distanced himself from the limelight. He came into the public eye once in a while though, for his success in dealing with protests by Citibank employees in April 1996, for instance. Edwin succeeded in calming the protests so they did not drag on too long. Afterwards, he got back into his routine, handling transactions in the dealing room.

Edwin Gerungan was born in Jakarta on June 14, 1948. Graduating from
