THE clouds hung heavily in the sky above Tanjung Lame in Ujung Kulon on the western tip of Java as the sea wind blew softly from Teluk Harapan. As on any other day in February, soon the rains would come at any moment. But the bad weather didnt deter the hundreds of people lining up on the open land the size of a soccer field in the area. Knapsacks on their back, a machete tucked inside their trousers, mens high-leg boots covering up their feet, a
