A REVOLUTIONARY law is born. It’s a law which is expected to force local governments to more seriously deal with the problem of waste management. “This is a revolutionary law, a real commitment of Indonesia in anticipation of the growing impact of climate change,” says Environment Minister Rachmat Witoelar.

The law referred to by Witoelar is the Law on Waste Management which was adopted by the House of Representatives (DPR) on April 9. It
