AT one corner of the spacious lobby of the Folketinget or Danish parliament, adorned with 18th century paintings, Steen Gade, 64, was slouched. His clearly Scandinavian face appeared exhausted that Sunday evening on October 25, 2009.

He was, after all, the ‘star’ of the Globe Legislators Forum in Copenhagen which took place on October 24-25. There were representatives from 16 economic giants and developing countries attending the event. Gade
