THE road toward the Dieng tourist area ascends to more than 2,000 meters above sea level. At this point the fog limits visibility to no more than 10 meters. It was extremely cold. When the fog fades away, the real landscape comes into view but with no forest or large trees dominating the landscape, only a vast potato plantation on both sides of the road.
