The Threat from the Crown-of-thorns
Acanthaster planci was discovered in the Manokwari waters. The voracious sea creature likes to consume coral reefs.

At first glance it looks like a colorful star. It's purple and brown. However, a cover of thorns hides the inner beauty. If you try to touch it, the poison at the tip of the thorns will hurt you. It's a danger not just to humans however. The creature, generally with a diameter of 30 centimeters, is a voracious coral reef eater. It is called the Acanthaster planci or the crown-of-thorns (CoT).
